Can I get a dissolution in Washington?
To qualify for a dissolution in Washington state, you must meet the following conditions:
- You are married or you have a common law marriage in another state or county.
- You or your spouse are a resident of Washington or in the military and will be stationed here for at least 90 days after you file and serve the petition for dissolution.
- One spouse in the marriage believes that the marriage can't be fixed (it is irretrievably broken).
- You or your spouse file and serve the summons and petition for dissolution properly.
- At least 90 days have passed since the petition for dissolution was filed and served.
