Girl Scout Leader

Attorney Forrler has been involved with Girl Scouts in a leadership position since 2003;as a Service Unit ssistant Manager in 2008/2009; and as a Service Unit Manager in 2009/2010

As Leader she:

 

  • Started with girls at 5th and 6th grade level: Girl Scout “Juniors”
  • Helped them earn various awards at the Junior level by providing community service and take on leadership roles for younger children
  • Lead them to new experiences and exposed them to new information about various activities they can participate in and roles that women play in our world
  • Continued assisting them and encouraging more independence at the “Cadette” and “Senior” levels
  • Supported them in their endeavors to find community needs and figure out what they can do to help
  • Dedicated time and energy to girls with direct interaction and being a positive role model
  • Strived to help girls grow and learn, to take on leadership positions in their troop, their school, and their community
  • Encourage girls to provide community service and practice random acts of kindness * Provided guidance and hands-on assistance in troop’s Bronze Award project 
  • Provided guidance and hands-on assistance in Cadette Scout’s Community Service Project
  • Provided guidance and hands-on assistance in Cadette Scout’s Silver Award project: 2009 Service Unit Wide Bridging and Award Ceremony

As Service Unit Assistance Manager she:

  • Incorporated monthly volunteer appreciation
  • Incorporated volunteer training documentation
  • Assisted Service Unit Manager as needed

As Service Unit Manager she:

  • Leads monthly meetings
  • Ensures the placement of a volunteer in all necessary positions - such as the newly vacant Service Unit Cookie Manager position (so no one on Bainbridge Island would have to go without their Girl Scout cookies)
  • Organizes recognition for Leadership Training accomplishments
  • Assists in the reconfiguration of Service Unit structure to better support the women and men who volunteer in Girl Scouts and provide more opportunities to girls in our community.
